SAFETY:
Our number-one priority is safety. The events of the day and layout of the course have been planned with the safety of your child in mind.
Parents and/or guardians will NOT be allowed in the bike transition area, directly on the bike or run course at any time. Friday is mandatory packet pick up. Three walking course clinics are available on Friday for your benefit and convenience. Every effort and measure has been taken to ensure the safety of your child. Medical and volunteer staff will be on site to offer any aid assistance that they may need throughout the race.
There will be plenty of lifeguards on hand so it’s perfectly safe even for kids who cannot swim. All athletes should be comfortable in the water. Swim goggles or swim masks may be worn but are not mandatory.
Each child must wear an approved bicycle helmet and have it attached the entire time his/her bike is on the course. No racers are allowed to wear head phones or use I-Pods while on the race course.
The best remedies for heat are to be in the best shape possible, so practice all three sports and stay as active as possible. Wear light and comfortable sportswear. Find shade and relax until you race. If while racing you ever feel dizzy or light-headed, slow down, stop and ask for help.
At the finish line, you will be required to wear your matching i.d bracelet provided by the event.
